Marion Stewart (1909-1968) was the first woman to be registered MRCVS in Scotland. She achieved the qualification in 1930, having studied at Glasgow Veterinary College. (The College became part of the University of Glasgow in 1945).

Marion was born in Scotstounhill, Glasgow in 1909. She came to Glasgow Veterinary College in 1925 from London University having previously attended Harrogate Ladies College. During the course of her studies, she was awarded medals in both Stable Management and Hygiene and class certificates in other subjects.

Following her qualification, Marion decided to work with small animals. By 1931 she had her own veterinary practice in Kensington. She married Captain John Alwyn Stewart on 17 March 1945. They moved to Rhodesia in 1948 where Marion took on a small practice with kennels. She built this into a large and prosperous practice with a veterinary hospital attached. She retired from veterinary practice in 1954 due to health reasons.
