John Grant

Biography of John Grant

John Grant, the eldest son of Patrick, an Aberdonian merchant, matriculated at the University in 1766. He is listed as a student of Natural Philosophy in the University's 1766 Register of attested students and studied under Professor John Anderson.

Addison identifies, in his compilation of matriculation albums and research into former students of the University, that this record possibly relates to John Grant, the later Chief Justice of Jamaica (1783-1790).
