Biography of Alexander Elliott
Alexander Elliott (1949- ) has been Professor of Clinical Physics at the University and Director of the West of Scotland Health Boards Department of Clinical Physics and Bioengineering since 1990.
Elliott is a graduate of the University of Stirling (BA) and became a temporary lecturer at the Nuclear Medicine Unit at the University of Strathclyde in 1974 and a lecturer at the Department of Nuclear Medicine in the Middlesex Hospital Medical School in 1975. He was appointed Principal Physicist at the Department of Nuclear Medicine at St Bartholomew's Hospital, and honorary lecture at the Medical Scool, in 1977, and came to Glasgow as the top grade physicist at the University's Department of Clinical Physics and Bioengineering in 1981. He was awarded a PhD and DSc by the University.
