Biography of James Lloyd
James Lloyd graduated MB CM from the University of Glasgow in 1889.
James Lloyd was born in the village of Llanddeiniol, in Wales, and was the son of Thomas Lloyd, a farmer. In 1885, he followed the career path of his older brother Jenkin Lloyd, and took up a place to study Medicine at the University of Glasgow.
In his first year, James studied Chemistry, Zoology, and Junior Anatomy, before taking Anatomy, Surgery and Physiology in his second. This was followed in his third year by classes in Materia Medica and Pathology, the former of which he won a First Class certificate for. In his final year he took courses in Surgery, Practice of Medicine, and Midwifery, and graduated on the 25th of July 1889.
