Francis Dunlop

Biography of Francis Dunlop

Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Francis Dunlop of Dunlop (1683-1748) was Rector of the University, 1729 to 1731.

The House of Dunlop passed to Francis from his brother Sir John in 1707. In 1715 he served in a Fencible regiment raised to fight against the Jacobites.
