Biography of David Knox Hutcheson
Captain David Knox Hutcheson of the York and Lancaster Regiment attended the High School of Glasgow and graduated from the University MA in 1934 and LLB in 1939. He was the son of DM Hutchison, the Clerk of the General Council, and became a partner in his father's law firm. He was gazetted to the York and Lancaster Regiment from the Special Reserve of Officers at the beginning of the war.
Hutcheson served in North Africa from autumn 1942. He was killed leading his company against an enemy hill position near Bou Arada in Tunisia on 22 April 1943, just two weeks after he had been recommended for a Military Cross.
