Howieson's Bursary

Description

In 1613 John Howieson (d1618), Minister of Cambuslang, founded an endowment of 1,000 marks to be used for a bursary for a student presented to the College by the Trades House. In 1817 the Trades House increased the bursary, which then amounted to 5, to 8 per annum, and it was increased to 9 in 1820.
